Booking the Hall
How do I book Tittensor Village Hall?
You can check availability and request a booking using our online booking calendar.
Simply choose your preferred date, click the “+” symbol on the calendar, complete the booking request form and submit your details. We will then review your request and respond to confirm the next steps.
Is my booking confirmed straight away?
No. Submitting the online form sends us a booking request. Your booking is not confirmed until you have received confirmation from the Village Hall Committee or booking administrator.
Can I view the hall before booking?
Yes. We are happy to arrange viewings where possible. Please contact us to arrange a suitable time.
How far in advance should I book?
We recommend booking as early as possible, especially for weekends, parties, celebrations and popular dates. The hall is a well-used community venue and availability can change quickly.
Can I make a regular or block booking?
Yes. If you would like to book the hall for a number of dates, a regular activity, or a series of events, please contact us before submitting multiple individual bookings.
How do I access the hall at the start of my event?
Before your event, we will send you an email containing the key codes and access instructions for the hall. Please make sure you check your email before your booking, including your junk or spam folder.
The instructions will explain how to access the hall at the start of your hire period and what to do when leaving at the end of your event.
Who is responsible for the hall during my booking?
The named hirer is responsible for the premises, contents, safety and behaviour of all people attending during the hire period. Hirers are also responsible for preventing damage and ensuring the premises are used only for the purpose stated in the booking agreement.
Do I need to supervise the event?
Yes. The hirer must be aged 18 or over and is responsible for supervision throughout the hire period whenever the public or guests are present.
Am I responsible for damage?
Yes. Hirers may be required to make good or pay for damage to the premises, fixtures, fittings or contents, including accidental damage.
Can I sub-hire the hall to someone else?
No. You must not sub-hire the hall or use it for any purpose other than the purpose described in your booking agreement.
Can I use the bowling green?
No. The bowling green is leased and managed by Tittensor Bowling Club and is not part of the hired premises.
Do I need insurance?
This depends on the type of event. The Conditions of Hire explain that hirers may need to provide evidence of adequate insurance where the hall’s insurance does not cover the relevant liabilities. Please contact us if you are unsure.
What fire safety checks do I need to make?
Before your event starts, you must check that fire exits are unlocked, escape routes are clear, fire doors are not wedged open, panic bolts are working and exit signs are illuminated.
What should I do if there is a fire?
You must call the Fire Service for any outbreak of fire, however slight, evacuate the hall and inform the Hall Committee as soon as possible.
